Services for Dr. Mauricio I. Zeplo, an internist and medical director of a treatment center for alcoholics and chemically dependent people will be held at 11am today as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1400 Dulaney Valley Rd.

Dr. Zeplo, who was 61 and lived in Joppatowne, died Monday at Maryland General Hospital after a Heart Attack. He practiced internal medicine in Joppatowne for 25 years and had been medical director of Father Martin’s Ashley in Havre de Grace since 1984. A former president of the staff at Fallston General Hospital, he had also been on the staffs of Franklin Square and what is now North Charles Hospital.

Born in La Plata, Argentina, he earned his medical degree at the national university there.He came to the United States in 1959 and served an internship at a hospital in Alexandria, VA. He served as a resident at a hospital in Wichita, Kan., and at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. He received four awards from the American Medical Association.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Barbara Solomon; a son Maurice Zeplo of Towson, and daughter Vivian Zeplo of Towson, and a brother, Leon A Czeplowodzki of Argentina.
